Coyote Blue, by Christopher Moore

Submitted by admin on Friday, 27 November 2009No Comment

Another Christopher Moore book? Yes and I’m reading another one. Aparently the guy has a very addicting way of writing. After Lamb I just had to read on. So here it is: Coyote Blue.

So we had Lamb which was about Joshua and the Gospel etcetera, but what is this book all about? God’s again? Yes.

It starts with Samson Hunts Alone aka Sam. He lives in an Indian reservation.  After an accident he has to run, and so he does. He has to leave the Indian reservation and live into the “white man world” where he quickly goes into the sales business. All seems normal and he does very well. But then the Trickster aka Coyote comes along…

The story is extremely funny and has some one-liners that make you smile for a very long time. But it’s not all just fun, the story is also very exciting and entertaining. It has some unpredictable twists.

What I found quite funny is that the persona are quite similar to Lamb. There’s a girl who’s cool and crazy (also in The Stupidest Angel, more about that later). The main characters are 2 people whom one with magic powers and the Trickster and Biff have a LOT in common personality-wise too.

Is that bad? No. I started reading Coyote Blue because it was a shame I went through Lamb so quickly. So I like it. Still it’s a fresh new story that doesn’t get boring at all.

Final note? Read it. Haven’t read any Christopher Moore books? Read Lamb first.
